INTRODUCTION

Our plans have been prepared for Dignity Funerals PLC. Dignity is the largest single operator of crematoria in Britain and currently operates 46 crematoria in England and Scotland. Dignity have identified a shortfall in crematorium provision north of Corby town and we believe that land at Corby Road is suitable for a new crematorium development. This is our opportunity to seek your views on draft proposals and to establish whether you are prepared to support us. We want your comments on our ideas. This is the start of a process ahead of submitting a formal planning application to Corby Borough Council. We hope you like what you see and would welcome your feedback.

THE LAND

The site is situated in open countryside beyond the Corby settlement and is some 1.2 Kms south of the village of Gretton. It has a frontage onto the Corby Road and is roughly rectangular in shape extending to c3.4 hectares. The local landscape is predominantly agricultural fields with a dense woodland plantation to the south.
