The Owners and their Architect held preliminary discussions with Sedgemoor which provided some positive feedback and shared the image shown below as a focus for the discussion.

It was generally agreed that there is a shortage of good quality hotel accommodation in Somerset and in the local area of Burnham on Sea and Highbridge. The idea of creating a new visitor destination which will provide serviced accommodation together with restaurants, spa and gym facilities plus a conference and events venue would fill a gap in the market.

It was also recognised that to succeed a proposal needs to create a distinctive and characterful hotel development which will provide a good quality experience for visitors when compared with more typical motorway break hotel accommodation.

From this point, the Outline Application began to take shape.
