Introduction to Revised Proposals November 2022

The development, which was proposed as Build to Rent with Policy Compliant affordable units, has been revised following feedback and comments from the July consultation which were as follows:

  • Generally good comments regarding the proposals quality of presentation and (particularly) the inclusion of a model(s) Build to Rent Model supported.
  • Height – 12 storeys on the original - Option 1 possibly too high, where a preference was made, Option 2 was preferred.
  • Concerns regarding loss of privacy and effect on daylighting for housing at St Dunstans, Honeywick and Clinton Road. Density (linked to Bedminster Green).
  • Landscaping – more detail required.
  • Concern over level of on-site parking, albeit the scheme is compliant with City Council Policy. Additional views would be helpful showing proposals seen from Monica Wills House/Airpoint and back-gardens on Clinton Road. Concerns over pressure on public services – schools and doctors surgeries.

The proposal for the revised scheme includes:

  • 223 apartments - reduced from a max of 225 A mix of 1 bed and 2 bed units - no 3-bed units
  • 7-10 parking spaces with electric charge points Part of the parking to accommodate car club spaces
  • Residents cycle parking
  • 5 electric cycles for residents' use.
