Site Activity October - Dec 2017

The timing schedule

The site was peacefully vacated on 8/10/17. Over the past few weeks The PG Group has  worked  toward taking Vacant  Possession of the site, which was finalised on 7/11/17.  Now responsibility for security is taken over by The PG Group as legal owners of the site.

NOVEMBER 2017 – Planning Amendment Decisions were anticipated on or around 14/11/17 but threre has been a short delay. PG Group anticipate approval of the amendments to various planning conditions, which CAG has been fully involved with and which have been shared on their web site. Legal work is underway for the appropriate licences required to meet the conditions of planning before any work commences on site.

Over the next few weeks, Site set up teams will begin securing and preparing the site for demolition and build programmes to commence. This primarily  involves Bray and Slaughter, the main Contractor, setting up on-going security, Health & Safety  Considerations and  welfare requirements.

Time required: 2-3 weeks.

DECEMBER 2017: Surveys are still continuing, and demolition contractors are now able to access the site and carry out their surveys. PG Group will be appointing their contractor with a view to commencing demolition January 2018, but this has still to be confirmed.

Given that demolition will be an aspect of the development that will be of significant interest, the demolition plan and how various elements such as minimising dust will be managed, will be shared once contractors are able to complete their surveys and the demolition plan can be agreed. Safety will be of paramount importance and rest assured the Grade 2* listed facade of the Carriageworks will not be affected.

Building Programme - Spring 2018
The build programme start  date  will be delayed until March/April 2018, but now PG are able to freely access the site they will be able to finalise the timing more  accurately.
